Tinplate caboose

I have that Tinplate Christmas set with the 2800 red and green caboose.

I doubt if it was offered separately. However,  this one I found on the MTH Product Locator looks very similar.  I think the green is off, i.e.,  this looks lighter than the darker green they use on the Christmas caboose. You could also do a repaint.

If you hunt around online, you might be able to find one still in stock somewhere.

That is as close to the Christmas train caboose that there is! I had not seen it. I will definitely look for it. As to my other option, is it possible to put tinplate couplers on the Lionel Lines (6-17692)?It   looks like it has the knuckle variety?

From time to time you can get someone to break up the set to get cars that you want.  I know that Jim Sutter did it upon occasion and John Brady does it also.  You might check out Brady's to see.  Good luck.
