I cant get my tiu and wiu to communicate together. The tiu is an older model with no revision sticker on it and its updated to 6.1. The firmware on the wiu is 1.1. The app is android version 3.2.1 build 53. It connected for a short period now I cant connect at all. Any suggestions please.

I'm not sure of what device your using. The #1 problem I have is the device dropping the connection to the WIU.
Make sure that the device is not going back to your house's wifi. You should use the MTH WIFI.
If you power down the TIU/WIU for some reason, the device may revert automatically to the house's WIFI.
also for conflicts, sometimes I have had to use the APP's reset, to clear conflicts with my old phone's software. It clears any info like engine loads so keep that in mind before you reset. The engine's load back fast so it's no big deal for me.
I forgot to mention that when it happens the tiu light blinks on the wiu
I am using a Samsung galaxy S7
aux power
Some questions:
- How is the TIU being powered, through the Aux. Power port or through Fixed #1 Input?
- What transformer is being used for Fixed #1 Input?
- If the TIU is being powered via Fixed #1 In and not through the EXt. Power port, exactly when does the TIU LED on the WIU flicker?
It is being powered by the aux Power
It is a ZW-c
It seems to read it when there are no tracks hooked up
When I hook up tracks it works for a min then the light starts to blink
I have both hooked to variable I tried to Fixed one also same results
I cant that is the problem. Is my tiu too old
Something's killing your track signal. Have you tried to run a signal strength test? Remove all equipment and connect the tracks as they are wired separately, testing as you go.
Maybe try just a piece of track and test with that only.
Ok i didnt try to wire track seperatly. They are wired with a 14 gauge bus wire and 4 feeders soldered in. Layout is 5x10
Dan,
Has this layout ever worked in the past, or is it a brand new layout?
Regardless, disconnect the layout from the TIU and replace it with a short test track, just long enough to exercise a DCS engine. Make sure that the TIU's red LED is on steady.
If the WIU sees the TIU (WIU's TIU LED is on steady), tap Refresh in the app, and attempt to add and exercise a DCS engine using the app.
If the engine responds as it should, the issue is most likely in the layout's tracks or wiring. If not, the issue could be the TIU or the cable connecting the TIU to the WIU.
Ok i used the cable that you said from best buy and i had another one from amazon. Same thing. I have it at my local shop they are looking into it also. I also couldnt connet to it from my pc
