TIU anomaly

Nothing springs to mind, I've never seen this, and I have a Rev. L TIU connected as you have.  I've also connected the original Rev. G TIU to the same configuration, it also worked as expected.

Sounds like the transformer is powering up both variable channels.  Are you sure you're not putting voltage into both variable inputs?

i disconnected the ZWL channel i question from the TIU and checked the ZWL output and it was zero.

In that case, I have to believe that the two tracks in question are somehow connected and feeding power back to the TIU.

Try connecting power directly to one channel without the TIU in the picture.  My guess is you'll see the same thing.

Agree with John, somehow there now has to be a wire from one track crossed over to the other. if it did not occur before.

Is it star wired from the TIU output? (rather than a terminal strip) You may have swapped one track feed.

i took the TIU off line and connected ZWL directly to my track #4 and low and behold track 3 powered up.  i now have to dig in and see where the cross connection is.  thanks for steering me in the right direction.

I'm glad the TIU can't do that, I've had them apart for repairs, and I couldn't imagine how the power could cross.

   I really did not think your TIU was faulty, so many people when building their layouts cross wire something some place, this is why I recommend testing as you build all the time.  Hope you get things figured out real quickly.

thanks for your replay.  you are correct, i did find two connectors that were touching causing the cross connection.  thanks to the forum my attention was taken off the TIU and focused on the real culprit.
