Have new TIU with two AIUs connected. Have successfully operated for about a month now occasionally the TIU only recognizes the first AIU. The switches on the second appeared grayed out in the DCS app. I can still fire them, but can’t add to a route etc. Have changed connecting cables. Switched the AIUs back and forth with same results. Reset TIU. Reloaded all engines, switches and accessories. System operates normally most of the time with this occurring maybe once in every five or six sessions. Any thoughts?

did you try a different TIU?
and did you try resetting the remote , just a thought!
Been operating with an iPhone and WIU, but yes did also try a reset remote with the same result.
I have to open the app twice (open, close, open) on my home layout. All of the switches come up the second time.
I believe that just might be the answer. Just tried it, open and close app a couple times brought the second AIU back on-line.
Thanks!
maybe you need to look for a recent software update for that App!
Didn’t see one available, I’ll check again.
Hi guys,
Each time the app is opened on your devise it queries your Wi-Fi network for WIU's. If you're running a single TIU and WIU in MTH mode as a stand alone network that part is quite reliable. Once the app connects to the found WIU(s) it queries each connected TIU for a count of AIU's. Keep in mind, this is all happening in a fraction of a second. With some regularity, the WIU has to wake up it's connection to the TIU. If this wake up hand shake is happening when the app queries the AIU count the reply will often be erroneous. The result is the grayed out switches in the list. The AIU is there and functional and the TIU knows it, but the app doesn't. Re-booting the app usually clear this problem.
There's a similar problem that can occur if you're using a Rev. L TIU connected to the WIU via a USB cable. If you turn on the WIU before turning on power to the TIU (aux power input or Fixed 1 input) the TIU will not detect the presence of any AIU's and will mis-report the AIU count to the app as 0. However, in this case, all the switches for that TIU would be grayed out in the app.
there is also a possibility that you app software is corrupted, I would delete your app and re download the app, that will probably cure your problem. many times with different software devices even computers the software get corrupted and the only way to correct it sometimes is to delete and redownload the software ! definitely worth a try at the least!
A little patience goes a long way. I was in the habit of opening the app as the system powers up. If I wait before opening the app all seems well. Thanks for the help.

Dave,
Thanks for the explanation! That makes sense.
Looks like a New Delhi India telephone poll.
