I'm wanting to put tmcc in an older locomotive but want to be able to use my whistle tender for classic sound. Any ideas how this can work or best way to go about it. This is my equipment list zw275 tmcc cab 1 tmcc comande base and tmcc power masters thanks

I am pretty sure you could install a ERR AC Commander and still control whistle with the ZW. You could send ERR a email about this and see what they say...

Okay just for you lol I put my 2383 NYC GP9 on the track with a whistle tender behind it. And the engine worked with the cab1 and the whistle worked with the transformer button. In command mode
The AC Commander puts out a logic 5V signal on the RailSounds interface connector pin-3 when the whistle is activated. You can use a signal relay with perhaps a transistor driver to trigger any conventional sound you like.
Thanks guys for the input, right now I'm going to try and run it as follows witch I tested with good results tonight. The loco has a can motor not a ac motor. So I put my power master in conventional set my track voltage to 18v on tr 1 then prompted my eng 1 and ran the locomotive in command and if I wanted the whistle I addressed tr1 and pressed the whistle button to blow it. Worked fine and easy to live with for me.
