You need to look closely at the switches and see where the momentary short is coming from.  It's not uncommon for certain locomotives to have issues with a specific switch type or size, the trick is finding the contact point and addressing it.

With the O22 switches it's quite possible that it's the power surge from the O22 solenoid that is creating a spike and tripping the PH180 breaker.  Try a 1uf 50V capacitor across each outside post to the center post of the switch motor and see if that resolves it.

GRJ - Thanks for the advice on the O-22 switches, I have ordered the capacitors you recommend.  Will install them and  let you know if it works.

On another note, when I look at various locomotives or rolling stock for sale here on the OGR Forum, there is always a picture of the bottom of the wheels - either the locomotive's or the wheels of the rolling stock --

Why??  What is important that that I should be looking for??

Would I be connecting 2 capacitors to each switch ?? ( 1st capacitor - short leg to the outside post, long leg to the center post:  2nd capacitor - short leg to the outside post, long leg to the center post)
