Hi everyone,

My wife and i wrote the letter, i looked up on Google how many stamps it would take to send it to the Netherlands, the majority said 4 to 5 stamps. I put 7 on the letter just to make sure. Of course it's written in English as i remember she said most of the folks there speak English. It's already in the mail box on my corner, this way it gets picked up in the morning, I can only hope  and wish when and if i get a response she's okay. I guess it will take a week or two to arrive there. As soon as i get a response i will post it immediately.

Every morning when i log on to the forum, i immediately look to see if there's any new's about Nicole. Just looking for that post that says she's doing okay, She's such a kind wonderful person

Marty E, thanks for the kind words, they meant a lot to me

Alex

I would go for it Alex, She was a regular poster and disappeared pretty suddenly.

Who knows maybe she decided to leave the hobby (She seemed pretty into the hobby though) or maybe it's health related, etc

It would be her choice of course to leave the forum but as long as we can know she is ok it would ease a lot of worry and concern for her.

I had a Dutch friend compose this last night, basically says we are model train friends and are checking on her. Feel free to use it

I did email it to her last night

Hallo,

Very nice Alex, hoping she will get it and respond, VERY smart move with the extra stamps to prevent any postal issues.

But very pragmatic. I concur. If she has passed, it would be nice to be able to do something in her memory.

Gilly and Mallard4468, if Nicole's deceased, (and I pray she's not,) under Dutch law official government confirmation that a resident of the Netherlands has passed away is not made pubic until two years after the person's death. Checking newspapers in the area she lives for obituaries, (using the keyword 'condoleance',) might likewise be without success since not everybody has an obituary in the Netherlands.

At this time, the best hope we have for learning about Nicole is the letter Alex has sent and I truly thank him for that. Hopefully it will be acknowledged forthright by either Nicole herself or someone familiar with her.

Alex, I understand and agree with you for not posting her name and address but I can't help thinking how good it would make Nicole feel if she received a card from each one of us wishing her a speedy recovery. Imagine a bunch of cards arriving on the same day all from the United States. And if the worst has happened, which I sincerely hope is not the case, I would think that a bunch of cards stating how much she meant to us would make her relatives feel good.

Hoping for the best, just a Windows software crash, we could always forward the cards to Alex (provided he is willing) with some postage$ and send them in a batch.
