Some have mentioned posting her address  to send cards.

 

If you hear back, what if you started another another thread where we could post our condolences/ well wishes ( if she is still with us)? Seeing as this forum was the way we shared her thoughts and ideas, etc.

 

Then you could print it out and send it. Maybe your letter already covers it? I don't know, just a thought.

 

 

Nicole was a great Lionel fan and would stand her ground on that! She would always read the threads of nothing but problems and sit back thinking why?  She would get them and prove lots of problems to be operator errorrs 

 

I hope if anything Nicole can still enjoy her passion  TRAINS

The letter we wrote was quite short but took a while to write, trying to come up with the right words. I think it's a great idea to start a thread with well wishes, as soon as i hear something

we will do that.

I agree that maybe we can send cards to one address and they could forward them to her. 

I agree Charlie.  One point of contact is best.  I'd be happy to pitch in a few dollars to cover the shipping of the postage.  But it would be I think easier for Nicole or her family rather than having all these individual cards streaming in.

One thought -

Since we are not certain whether she will actually be the one reading whatever you (and we) send her, and instead may be her family members who end up with your (and ours) remittance, should at least a short note be included written in Dutch?

I have been reading/watching this thread, somehow hoping that Nicole would pop in and tell us how silly we are.  I miss her helpfulness and wit.    

If a decision is made to send correspondence to one address to forward on I would be glad to contribute money for postage.

 

I think this is a great idea and would be welcome by Nicole and her family and friends.

Alex, granted it's a short time since you reached out to Nicole or whoever might presently be in charge of her affairs but have you received any feedback whatsoever from the letter you sent? Do you know whether it's yet reached the address you used and if that address is still a currently vaild and functioning residence for her?

We're all anxiously awaiting to hear from you about any response you may have gotten to date and praying for the Christmas miracle of Nicole still being with us.

FWIW I have sent  couple emails, both before this thread and after. None have bounced, but none have been replied to

Some mentioned a concern about the language.

Nicole was born in England. I don't know, but assume she may have married a Dutch man. I hope we get an answer one way or another.

If she married a Dutch fellow, maybe he does not read English, have it translated(internet)to Dutch and send it to the email address. Maybe he will see it he may respond, hopefully with good news.

I think a lot of Europeans speak English better than we do (well better than a lot of us anyway). I follow a piece of software I have that was written by a company in Amsterdam and those folks definitely speak good English.

Wasn't Nicole active in a local train club? My problem is I cannot remember the name of the club. I sure hope someone can help me out here. My memory isn't what it used to be.

In February of 2013 I replied to a post inquiring as to how many forum members were from or had connections to Wisconsin.I was surprised to see that Nicole responded as well. If you enter "Wisconsin " in the search box you can read her message.

I can't find that message but do remember and have found one where Nicole referred to a museum in Norfolk, VA, which together with her choice of trains suggests that she had more than a passing familiarity with the eastern U.S.A.

No..Emails sent have not been responded to. Her account hasn't been used in months

 

Knowing her health history I think it is pretty safe, and very sad, to say she is no longer running trains in this existence.

Hello everyone,

 

 I've emailed  her, I've sent two letters to her address and i had someone with ties to the Netherlands try to find out about her. I check my email and regular mail everyday and come up empty. All efforts have come up empty, the only thing i can do is keep a positive outlook until i hear different.
