I have an MTH PS2 GP38 in like new condition I bought at a train show. If I turn the smoke on the room is full after two trips around my 13 ft. layout. The book says it can be adjusted, but there is no pot, just one for sound. It is 20-2491-1. Do I have any options to cut it down some?

Sorry. I forgot to mention I run conventional. I can't get a RC to work on the whole layout so I am leery about spending for a DCS system.

John, I think you are limited to 'on' or 'off' when running conventional with a slide switch underneath.
Yep, no control other than on/off for conventional, when you run under Legacy control, you can control the smoke volume.
Or find somebody who has DCS and let them adjust the smoke to the low setting. Once it is set it will stay at that setting.

I didn't know it would stick, that's good to know. I don't run conventional, so this has never come up.
John, You meant DCS not legacy:-) Look closely under the wheel trucks, this should have a smoke volume pot similiar to the Sound pot. Sometimes they can be hard to locate. Do the instructions show it's location. G
Well, yes, I did mean DCS.
