We have a new Legacy control system, and successfully programmed it to control a new Legacy U30C (Engine# 2918) diesel engine.  You can press the buttons to start the engine, hear voices and all those things the screen should do but there are NO images / icons on the screen.

What did we do wrong?

Does the bottom screen display numbers?  Sorry for all of the questions, but I'm trying to establish whether it is a setting problem, or a hardware fault.

If you are getting numbers on the keypad, then you may have set the locomotive as CAB1/TMCC instead of Legacy. Did you change any settings when you loaded the locomotive module?

Is it possible for you to post a picture of the CAB2 showing both screens? This might help to diagnose what has gone awry?

That does look like it may be faulty.

As Chris suggested, you could try re-loading the blue module in the handset. Another thing to try would be to press the 'reset' button on the underside of the handset. (It's the little grey button that you can best press with a ballpoint pen or a small knitting needle.)  This might help if it's a software glitch.

One last thing to try would be to increase the keypad contrast setting. This is in the 'System Settings' menu. (See pages 48-49 of the v1.4 manual.) It's unlikely, but possible that this would have gotten set too low, but there is nothing to lose by trying it.

If all else fails, Lionel will fix it for you. They have a world class customer service/repair department.

Good luck.
