I'd like to invite any and all to join us on "York Thursday," October 19th, from 7:00 to 9:00pm for another gathering of the Toy Train Paper & Memorabilia Group (TTP&M). We're open to the public, free of charge, and you do not need to be a TCA member to attend.

We've been doing this almost 30 years, and continue to attract a diverse array of attendees and interests. In short, if something is toy train-related but NOT necessarily an actual train, that's us! Historical paper, advertising, promotional items, vintage photography, factory artifacts and the like from all manufacturers and eras are usually represented.

Our meetings are extremely informal in nature, and consist primarily of "show-and-tell." Have a favorite piece to share? Need insight on something you found? Bring it along -- there's a good chance someone in the crowd can help fill in the gaps.

As a special treat, Martin Folb will be making a presentation on Louis Hertz, long considered the father of toy train collecting. Martin will be playing excerpts of an interview between Hertz and Frank Hare that was published in the American Flyer "Collector" magazine years ago. We're looking forward to hearing Hertz himself, along with a few amusing anecdotes that never made it into print.

We meet off the fairgrounds, not far from the intersection of Routes 30 and 83, at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel. The address there is 1650 Toronita Street, York -- it's behind the Round the Clock diner. All the details can be found on the attached flyer.

My e-mail can be found in my profile if you have any questions. We'd love to see you!

I just wanted to thank those who attended for answering my questions about my Lionel Pre War printing blocks.  While certainly not the rarest of things, it is good to finally have information about them.  However, I also wanted to tell all who participated that I am still in shock at how deep some people prepared to present their items.  Wow, just an amazing night.  To be honest, if I wasn't staying at The Four Points I would not have gone.  Now, I will try not to miss this meeting in the future.  Thanks again, and looking forward to April.

Doug
