Hi

Hi just getting back into trains after a few years away. I had a Tpc 300 I purchased a few years back but never used. When I just setup my new layout I wired it up and it doesn't work. No comm lights. It looks dead. I had a second one that I wired up and works fine. I contacted Lionel and they said couldn't do anything for me  which was disappointing. Since it was never used tossing it out seems to be a waste is there anybody that fixes these? Lionel also said it doesn't repair them.  I run mostly Lionel command products but have a few 1940's era locomotives I like to run. Any help is appreciated. Thx

An easy thing to do is open it up and take a look at the IC Board. See if any of the copper traces are no longer connected. You can use a piece of copper wire to bridge the gap. If after looking at it you could send it off to Dale.

When you get it back you should install Transient Voltage Suppressors on both the input side and output side of the TPC's. They will help to prevent damage from voltage spikes.
