track recommendation

IF you run magnetraction locos, then the SS will not work to give you that traction advantage.  The tin plated track CAN be abraded by track eraser-type devices. where the SS will not.

The Gargraves stainless steel track is more expensive, harder to bend and is only useful if you are building an outdoor layout where rust is a consideration. The basic tin plated phantom rail track is perfect for indoor use. Mated with Ross Custom switches and Tortoise switch machines provides an unbeatable combination. If you can purchase Midwest cork roadbed it provides an excellent quieting effect for the phantom rail track.

I did my latest layout with all Ross switches and Gargraves and Ross track, it worked out well.  I used Gargraves flex track for most of the track, but I did use Ross sectional O72 curves where I wanted O72. The flex track was nice as I could do free-form design of some of the runs.

Hard to do stuff like this with all sectional track.
