FYI,

Thought I'd share this information.  I was planning on putting some songs together for an open house at our train museum this Sunday.  A little searching found this website:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_train_songs

There are lots of great train tunes listed.  Some historic, some new, lots of folk tunes (not crazy about them) and lots of blues (like 'em a lot).  You can the go to the website for SongLust, enter the title and listen or view videos of them!

I was wondering if folks enjoy playing tunes while running their trains...blues seem like a natural fit...also could enjoy listening to some Johnny Cash or Ry Cooder.

I think it might be cool to use a little mp3 and some old pc speakers to bring some music to my lyout.  Could even make some playlists with passenger or environmental sounds if you could find the sound files available.  Kind of like a homemade MRC setup.

On the lighter side Neil Young's cover of Mystery Train has been an all time favorite of mine (I got a shake-y voice too, I can sing out loud and blend with Neil). New age? Angry Rock/jazz/metal/blues band Clutch(they are the whole ball of wax, lit with a fuse) doing Mississippi's  "Gravel Road" causes Gomez Addams like operating speeds and the next song their cover of Howlin Wolfs "Who been talkin" slows me down with big ole grins lately. lets see if I can link two the last two songs only..yep  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4i7pKbZahI&feature=player_detailpage#t=2741s
