I made a trip up to Folkston Georgia this weekend. I heard about this place for a couple of years now and decided to go and see what its all about. The town is right above Jacksonville Florida in Georgia where the csx lines Y and funnel down into florida. There was a "railwatch festival" going on with alot of like minded people who appreciate trains. They have two of these events a year, one in the spring and the other in the winter. But you can railfan there everyday of the year. If your in the southeast and want to watch some serious trains. Its a must go! Especially if your a csx fan. Train after train, upwards of 60 to 70 plus trains a day! The town caters to railfans! They have trackside pavilions equipped with scanners and wifi. Or you can park pretty much anywhere along the tracks, bring a chair, and settle in for hours if you choose. I highly recommend checking it out for yourself if you haven't already.  Im more of a watcher, not really a picture taker but I took a couple with my phone for the heck of it.

Jesse,  If you do a search for"Folkston Funnelcam", then click on "Virtual Railfan", you can sign up to access the 3 cameras in Folkston, 24/7, from the comfort of your computer room. Two cameras are across the tracks just south of the viewing platform and provide an unobstructed view, north and south, of the mainline. A third camera covers the Main street grade crossing. Audio is provided so you can monitor Dispatcher/Train conversations and 3 nearby defect detectors.
