I told Allan Miller my mom was the oldest reader of OGR. She gave me my first Lionel train set in 1952 and loved reading about my exploits in OGR. Mom went to heaven today at the age of 99.

That is a hard thing to have to live through, friend.  No matter how much you may think you're prepared for it, you never really are.  My sincere condolences on your loss.

Golly Eliot - 99 years here and she appeared to be in somewhat good overall health. What a blessing to have lived that long!  Just think what she's seen and experienced in her one lifetime.  My dad's mother was born in 1885 in S Dakota and saw 'real' indians and rode a stagecoach as a 5 yr old. The family moved east at some time and she was among the first women's graduates from Oberlin University. Went to school with the Wright brothers - was a good friend of their sister.

Your mom wasn't far behind these times where they saw stagecoach, RR, steamboat, automobile, aircraft ,and saw man walk on the moon!  What a life!

We are blessed to have had them. I lost mine a few years ago at 93...
