Hey Phil.  You are making a mountain of of nothing.  Give it a break.   Nothing disrespectful was said.  I really do not care what you think.  I am giving up going to the Pats game to be with my New York and New Jersey friends.  They are where my respect lies.

I will be in Patterson about 0930.  Look me up.  If you want my cell phone number, I will send it to you.   We will all have a great day watching trains and catching up with good friends.   I look forward to Vinny kicking the hell out of my diet.

Marty, I know you don't care what I think and I don't care what you think but I am entitled to my opinion and most people would agree with me that what you originally said was incorrect. Hey, I agree it's no big deal. No worries at all. Yes, I am sure we will all have a great time today. See you later.

Today raffle winner of the Lionel C&NW Windy City GP38 Trainset was drawn by our guest Cassie. No need to be present to win. Jim D. made the announcement to the packed house and the winner was / is ...........

Chris Lord.

Thanks to Cassie and for her efforts she took home a 2017 Calendar.

Thanks to everyone that came to the club and purchased calendars. All proceeds go to the Make a Wish Foundation.IMG_0502IMG_0516IMG_0518IMG_0519

I arrived a bit later than planned, but still in time to sample Vinny's great cooking and deserts!    It was my first time visiting the layout, so I purposefully didn't take any pictures -- just soaked everything all in with my own eyes!!!

All in all, I must have walked around the layout 5 times -- once using the elevated walkway on one side.  All I can say is WOW!!!!  My first impression was how "small" O-Gauge trains can appear in such an enormous setting.    Normally an Allegheny steamer would stand out and overpower many an O-Gauge layout.  But in this setting, it just blended right in pulling a large string of hoppers.

Thanks again to the NJ Highrailers for their excellent hospitality and for opening their club to everyone today!  I left around 3:30, and the snow was falling pretty steady then.  The roads were mainly wet, but travel was very slow going south on the GSP.

I left when I saw the snow, probably around 2:45.  I went I80 to I287 to I78.  I experienced no huge traffic delays, just dropped to 35-40 mph at times, but most of the time 65-70.  Once I get to PA, the snow was pretty much behind me.  I don't ever go on to the GSP unless there's no other route!

I had to drop off my dog in Metuchen first... then head to a wedding reception in Matawan at 6pm.  That's why I was on the GSP.  Otherwise, I agree... 287 and 80 would be the preferred route coming in from PA.
