Okay, this may be a 2-rail sin, but with regard to passenger car interiors, has anyone considered the possibility of using transparent holographic window inserts? CAD drawings utilizing known floor plans (http://illinoisharvest.grainge...archtype=all&p=3)  could be used. Insert passengers as needed, or maybe even yourself. I know some passenger cars have really great interiors, requiring lots of time or $$$, but this could be an interesting way to do something a little different.

I just spoke with Mark Bay of Zebra Imaging and he said their holographic images require a light source. Overhead lighting in passenger cars illuminates holographic film on the floor of the car and the image jumps up. So the lights need to be on, the room lighting needs to be low and the train needs to be running below eye level. I can imagine all sorts of Halloween and Christmas-themed scenarios here. Zebra Imaging also does holographic panoramas, so imagine the back wall of your layout with a 3D image of whatever village, industrial site, or scenic vista you wish as a backdrop.

Mark said he would consult with his coworkers regarding the feasibility of the in-car hologram, which, if it works, would cost about $30 per 20" car.

I'm still looking for something in a keyhole holograph, where you put your eye up to a window and "see" the car interior.
