I found this report on the BBC about a couple of guys who have built a vehicle to travel the abandoned railways of Mexico. Here is a link to the article.
The video is pretty interesting.

I wonder if that "spacecraft" is bullet proof.
Very cool! Thanks for posting this.
Interesting story. I sometimes wonder if something similar would happen if, God forbid, the U.S. Government dropped Amtrak.
That was a great story. They are lucky to have been able to explore the old rails.
Thanks
Here is video of the "Space ship". It's really amazing. Don

THANKS for sharing that sociological rail exploration!
QUESTION: When will MTH make a model of their vehicle?
"Esperanza", means "hope". (the small group pictured behind an apparent station sign) With maybe an "extinct" volcano looming in the background, and no way out of Dodge, I would say they were fresh out.
Thanks for posting this. The video is great.
Here's another "abandoned" railway--one used to deliver mail between post offices in London.
Only it wasn't dismantled--Royal Mail mothballed the 6-mile system of 7' diameter tunnels and the scaled-down battery/electric train that traversed them. A historical organization is trying to raise funds to turn part of the system into a museum, with passenger rides through the old tunnels.

Another wonderful find. Thanks for posting.

Really cool.
1. Wonder if it has A/C.
2. Wonder how it would be getting insurance for it.

I was thinking about posting this to the Forum, but you beat me to it.
I have to wonder why they just didn't install the hi rail equipment on an old pickup truck, but hey, they're having fun!
Hi Nicole
Thanks for sharing this story & video about the brothers building a motorized train car. They explored the abandon rails of Mexico for about a year. I like how they used the vehicle for camping and watching the stars at night from the back of the vehicle.
