Hi,  i have been running a MTH PS2 Doodlebug in record playback with PFE on a point to point/out and back track.  The Doodlebug also has a trolley soundtrack.  So, just to change things up a little i decided to change the running of the Doodlebug from record playback mode to trolley mode.  More interesting sound track.  I position the doodlebug at the the first stop and enter learn mode (MTC>MLM) and the engine says it is in learn mode.  I then press LST, select my first station and press SAV to assign it.  The engine announces it is saved.  The engine is in forward postion at this time.  I then drive the Doodlebug, by using the scroll wheel to the next station.  But, when I get to the next station and press DIR to stop the engine nothing happens.  The engine keeps on going forward and does not recognize the DIR command.  The remote still has LST in the display.  The only way i can stop the engine is to hit the ENG key and then DIR or to do an E-stop.  Of course either one of these moves destroys the trolley learn sequence.  If I run the doodlebug outside of the trolley learn mode, the DIR function works perfectly.  Thank you again, Clarke

Hello Clarke;  Do not use DIR to stop the trolley at the desired stop. Use the thumb wheel to roll the speed back to 0 MPH.  What works great for me is to use 2 remotes when programming our trolley. 1 is used to move the trolley from stop to stop and the other is used for the learn mode, save and out and back stuff. The speed (MPH) will be displayed on the 1 remote so you will know when you have scrolled back to 0 MPH. The other will not have the speed (MPH) displayed. Hope you have 2 remotes. If not you can just observe when the trolley has stopped (0 MPH) using the thumb wheel.

Good morning Bob,  Thank you for the prompt reply.  Actually I woke up this morning with the idea of using the thumbwheel. Old habits, the DIR key sometimes become secondhand and we miss the obvious.  Using the thumbwheel to scroll to zero, as you stated, works fine.  I do not have two remotes, but I get what you said and it sounds like a good idea.  If i may, I do have another question.  I only have two stations set up on a point to point route and so am using only two of the nine station sound sets.  Do you know of a way I could use all nine sound sets.  For example, start at station A with sound set 01, move to station B with sound set 02 - then - back to A and now use sound set 03, back to B and use sound set 04 and so on.  Thank you again, Clarke
