My NIB 29832 Chessie Crane Car worked for an hour so, and then all command control functions stopped.  I looked at what I could, but it was beyond my skill set.  After talking to them on the phone, I sent it off to a certified Lionel Service Center that happens to be one of the OGR sponsors.  It was delivered to them on May 4.  I hadn't heard anything, so after about 4 weeks I called them up, and they said they haven't looked at it yet.  It's been 2 weeks past that, and still nothing.

I've never sent in any Lionel stuff to a service center for repair.  Is this about normal?  If so, I'll just be patient.  Otherwise I'll be calling them up later this week to see what my options are.

@jini5,

Sorry, left out that detail.  Even though the item was NIB, it had been over 5 years since it was built (I think that's it) so it's no longer under Lionel warranty.  I called them and asked, I really didn't know how that worked.  Lionel Support then gave me a couple of names of authorized service centers, one in Texas near me (sort of) and the one I sent it to (much further).  I picked that one since it does appear to be a larger business and it is an OGR sponsor.
