Does anybody know how to contact Twacks & Twains and get a reply? I have called then several times and he did call back once saying he would have to see if they have the parts. That was two weeks ago and I have emailed them numerous times with no response. Does anyone else have S-Helper parts, like motors for the F7's, gears, drive shaft couplers, 2-8-0 circuit board and ribbon etc.

Here's some "long shots" for SHS parts:

Sidetracks.net in Colorado had some SW9 boards but Tom H. is selling the business lock-stock-and barrel. So to get one you'd need to buy the whole business and I don't know if SW9 boards are inter-changeable or not, likely not.

At one time Dallee indicated they could repair a loco-matic board for me. They might be able to repair a regular AC-DC board. Albeit at an expense $$.... It might be cheaper to buy a used SW8 somewhere.... I've got a couple (I think) one has a locomatic board in it and one is AC/DC.  Doug Peck had some SW8's in his stock at one  time.

If you haven't already, check out the SHS Yahoo group and pose the questions. Don T. "lurks" there and responds. At one point Don could quote "chapter and verse" which part was in which box that he shipped off to Clay and company. And I think I recall a response from Clay with "new" contact information. But it sounds like you've got that already and it's just a case of his timely response.

I "know" of people who have converted their SHS to DCC and I've "lucked" out and bought their Loco-matic boards that were gathering dust.  Again multi-post at the Yahoo groups and someone might respond.

Good luck,

Bill, Kelso, WA

Bill,

Thanks for the info on Sidetracks and I do have some S-Helper parts but not many. I have been repairing and installing TMCC in engines specializing in S gauge and have a F7 engine that needs a new motor plus some other parts.

There aren't many suppliers with parts for S-Helper and looking for specific parts is even harder. Sometimes I am able to save a board by replacing the bad components but other times it need parts. I will keep trying to contact them and will try to contact Don.

Thanks again,

I know Clay was working hard late last year to get his S-Helper parts business back on track with Dave's T'nT set up in California.  His availability, however, still seems to be come and go.  I have a couple of email addresses for him, so I'm not sure which is the most "reliable".  Below is the last posting from him that I have.  The last "sighting" was a customer of mine got through to him and was shipped a part in late December 2017.  He did not have success with clay@davestnt.com, but did with claybuckage@yahoo.com.   Good luck Ed and let us know how it goes.
