Taking a brief break from the "Little Mitch" project for another idea what popped into my head...
If you have drawbar operated locos such as prewar American Flyer or postwar Marx, you can always use a locomotive tender to run equipment. An idea popped into my head: What if you install a drawbar onto a knuckle coupler equipped car, flipping the truck end for end as used to be done with Lionel Scout rolling stock?
To think was to act!

Ah, but what of freight equipment, one might ask? Well, I had a postwar gon with a busted coupler and another drawbar handy, so:
Did a bit of cleanup and added MPC brakewheels just for the heck of it:
