Thanks for the reply Tom. I'm still waiting on others to chime in. I sent another email to U.P. and haven't received any response, yet.

I have sent an eMail to a friend of mine, who is retired General Foreman from the UP Executive Car facility on Council Bluffs, Iowa. He knows more about passenger equipment than anybody I've ever met. It make take few days for him to respond, as he is still pretty active.

OK, here is what my retired buddy offered: UP tended to always use that tan color on interiors (same as vestibule interiors on the passenger equipment). Plus, lots and lots of dark wood for flooring and side-walls in walkways. He also pointed out that power cars had very heavily tinted side windows, thus seeing ANYTHING through the windows into the car would be a problem.

Hope this helps.

Yes, it helps very much. Thank you so much. Thank your buddy for me as well. This is the first answer I've received from any UP employee with this type of information.

Could you ask him one more question please? Was/is the crew members bunk room in the generator cars bathroom done in all stainless steel or is there a porcelain sink and toilet with painted walls?

Thanks again Hot Water!

Since my buddy was gone by the time that power car was constructed/completed, such questions are beyond his experience. That said, he suggested you phone the executive car shop I. Council Bluffs, Iowa, and ask them. They are supposedly pretty helpful (no, he did NOT provide the phone number). Also, maybe someone in Public Relations (if the UP even still has such a department) could help you.

Thanks again Hot Water!
