I was taking a couple pics of the CSX yard:
and I heard a rumble getting louder...
I got lucky!

This train was featured on an episode of Extreme Trains.
Judging from the graffiti on the cars I am guessing it came from the L.A. area, in fact that looks like San Fernando blvd.
Funny, the UP hauled colorful Pacific Fruit Express trains back in the day. Now they're hauling a different kind of colorful fruit train
Every single car was "tagged" heavily. Even my girl commented on how they could be done up like that.
Me, I was just glad to catch a train.....finally.
Yes. I often wonder how many dollars worth of spray paint are wasted on this! These particular cars are almost always loaded with graffiti - the white sides invite it, of course. UP really needs to do something like paint a medium green color (for the fruit trees ) in a long beltline stripe along the bottom 4-5 feet of these cars, which might help somewhat. They should have done this to begin with.

Don't think it would really help. All the taggers need to do is use white, yellow, and other bright-colored spray paints to make sure their "tags" stand out against any dark colors.
They are painted white to reflect the heat of the sun. What they need to do is use a silicone resin paint, then the spray can paint would just ball up and run off. But it cost a lot more that the cheap DTM paint they currently use.
Joe GREAT set of pictures. Thanks for sharing.
