Hello all,

I received my Lionel UP Solid Rocket Booster Set the other day and what can I say? This set is awesome. Unfortunately, it seemed that 2 of the booster segment flatcars continually were derailing. Upon further inspection, it appears that each of those cars has a bent truck mount (not sure of the proper term) that is preventing the inward truck from fully contacting the rails and leading to electrical shorting and derailments - see attached photos.

Considering that these pieces are diecast, it seems like it would be very difficult to try to straighten them. Has anyone seen this issue yet and does anybody have any suggestions to fix this?

I’m relatively new to the hobby - is this something Lionel would fix or replace?

Thanks for the help!

That's odd. Looks like the other side has a kink in it like it was straightened. Bad casting?

I second Alan's suggestion. Start with the vendor. Maybe they would be willing to swap cars with another set.

If not, you'll want to contact Lionel customer service for repair or replacement.
