Upgrading a 1997 M-1117LP with a PS-2 Steam kit

I have an Allegheny Steam engine that I purchased new in 1997. It has been a shelf queen for all these years and last week at a show I purchased a PS-2. Steam upgrade kit. I seem to remember there was some kind of addition like a filter or something you needed to add to make this work. I know this goes back a long ways but hoping someone out there members.

The inductor for the CV board. Download the instructions for the kit as MTH no longer includes them. G
