I'm trying to upload a video but all I get is a black box with an arrow in the middle. Is there a place on this site that instructs one how to do that?

Thanks for the link Training Wheels, but it only deals with uploading photos....not video's, and we've got that part nailed down!!!

I've done that and all I get is a blackbox that won't play. Photos upload fine. The video plays on my computer. So it's not a bad video. Is there a special format I should use? @Buco are you also having this problem?
Sure am Pup....I haven't been able to post a video in all the time I have been on the forum!!!
Looking for the "KISS" instruction on how to post VIDEO"S!!!!

Photo or video, it works the same way for both. They are just uploaded files. Perhaps you are using an incompatible file format or the file size is too large. MOV and MP4 formats seem to work just fine as many others have uploaded videos in those formats. I believe that file size is limited to 100 megs, so check the size of the file you are trying to upload.

I've had problems viewing .MOV format videos with Firefox (browser), Chrome usually works just fine. I only use PC/ Android so I can't speak to IOS products.
Also remember that file size is capped at 100MB. Video files larger than 100MB won't upload (you will get an error message). A work around is to upload the video into YouTube and then insert to the forum post using the film icon in the tool bar at the top of the reply box.
Bob
Videos take longer to be processed than photos.

Somebody changed my post and just said I got the issue resolved. My post explained how it got resolved. I was getting the black box when I was writing the post. Because of this I thought the video wasn't loading. When I uploaded the post to the forum, to my surprise the black box turned into the video. If you are getting the black box when you write a post it should be ok once you upload it.
Thank you guys (and Pup).....I'll give it a go later today and see what happens!!
As I keep saying......."Watch This Space" (hopefully a video will appear)

because I was asking how to post a video. isn't that a tech question. I just posted the video to test it.
Ok. I deleted the test video. All should be right in the world. Thanks again for your help guys.

No. Photos and videos should generally be posted to the Photo and Video Albums Forum.
