While visiting Westchester County yesterday, we stopped for lunch at "Valhalla Crossing" in Valhalla, New York. The restaurant is located in the old Valhalla station (Metro-North's present station issituated immediately to the east of the restaurant) on the Harlem Line. Space in the former station building is supplemented by a few pieces of rolling stock including a coach and caboose. The railroad ambiance is great and the food is tasty and plentiful. The restaurant features a room called the "Track Room" which offers the best train watching but it was reserved for a children's party. Let's hope a few future railfans came out of there yesterday! For posters who own a copy of the book "Diesels to Park Avenue-The FL9 Story," the restaurant can be seen in the picture of the 5028 on Page 98.
The railroad and good food...an unbeatable combination of the highest order. I recommend the restaurant highly.
