DITTO...to all veterans...we salute you.

+2. I too salute all veterans of all the wars(declared and undeclared) . We who stayed behind owe all of them to NEVER forget what they did. And especially honor the ones who never came back alive, along with those who lost part of themselves physically or mentally. God bless them all.
I come from a long line of veterans. I myself am not one.
My mom and dad always made sure our family knew what today is all about and I continue to make sure I pass this tradition on.
Thanks to all of the veterans today and every day. My families thoughts, prayers, thanks and sincere appreciation to all of you today. God bless.
Yes; a BIG thank you to all our veterans and a special thank you to my Dad (US Navy) and my father-in-law (US Army), both veterans of WWII.

My father was Navy and I was born at Great Lakes. He always thanks me for my three days of service! He laughs that I was born with the silver spoon and got my butt wiped!
A very heartfelt 'Thank you' to all of you OGR members who are vets.
I suffered a broken neck in 1965 and was not able to join afterwards - had wanted to be a pilot.
My Dad and my wife's Dad were both US Navy and stationed in the Philippines during WW2 (Didn't know each other however)
YES, we owe a lot to those who served and those who now serve.

It was an interesting Veteran’s Day. We are in Orlando, with friends, and went to the American Exhibit at Epcot. We listened to a beautiful rendition of patriotic songs by an 8 person ensemble, they did a medley of each Military Branch’s song. We were asked to applaud when they sang the song which represented the branch we had served in. When we went to the theater for the main presentation they asked all the veterans to stand up in the theater and gave us a vigorous ovation. Later in the night we had dinner at the Rose and Crown, a group of 5 Marines - a Sargent, a Corporal and three Lance Corporals, dressed in “Dress Blues”, arrived and were seated. All the patrons applauded as they walked by.
I was a United States Marine, serving 1968-1970. After 45 years, I was very touched by this recognition.…..
Excuse me Wood: my late father-in-law(a Marine Lance Corporal, God rest his soul) and my beautiful wife (his doting daughter) both remind me - "Once a Marine, ALWAYS a Marine." Thanks for your service, and for all others who have served or continue to serve to keep us safe.

"Once A Marine, Always a Marine."
Spent Saturday with an older Marine vet, Sunday with a former Navy pilot and two Air Force vets. While discussing Veterans Day events, the subject of flags came up. You see the Red, White and Blue flying proudly at a lot of homes as well as the American flag flying with the POW-MIA flag below it, we never see Army, Navy, Airforce or Coast Guard flags. Yet pass be the home of a Marine and there is a very good chance the Corps flag is proudly flying right under Old Glory!
My brother and I both of us vets had dinner at the olive Garden in Downingtown, Pa. Along with many other vets. It was a great time seeing so many vets from WW2, Korea, Vietnam and the gulf wars. God bless all vets.
