Guys, it all about wants and needs. My cusin was a Air Force jet oilot and bought a new vette in 1957. I used to drool over this car when I was around it, as a young kid. When he got ready to trade it in on a new 62 vette, alas I bought it(the 57, 1800.00). If you want it go get it, the VL BB. It's kinda like, when shopping for a TV when the old family air loom goes broke. For most of us "blue collar gang" a friggin tv is the main source of entertainment, so get a **** good one! Now if you can also afford a few good trains and a so,so layout, then go for what ever engine that you want! One other thing be **** sure that you have a very good TV for you wife/girl friend, this will keep her from watching the mail/ups delieveries of your personal items of joy!!!. Good Luck on your BB purchase, remember good health won't last forever, so get something you desire! P.S. Don't forget her TV, Soaps maybe on!........................Have a good one!

I'm 67 now and a big UP fan. Financially  I should not buy the big boy, it will be more then I ever spent for any train.

I have most of the big articulated and non-articulated steam engines of the UP made by Lionel. I have done it by trading, and buying used. But the one engine I don't have is the big boy.

So whether I should buy it or not I have made a decision------I'm in, now the wait.
