I know that they may not be scale, but these 2 construction equipment look good enough for me and my future layout. Both were $2.53 each and for a guy on a budget that works for me. Please tell me what you think.

I bought a similar payloader at Walmart a few weeks ago for that price. It was small but I put it on our club"s "S" layout and it looked fine.
I think I need to hit the toy isle and stock the pit mine.
I think there nice enough, I have to go back cause they have off road dump trucks, and cement mixers also!
Looks good to me, Mike. They make a nice flat car load. I'll look for them next time I'm in Walmart.
Might want to make sure the wheels do not react to the train car plastic. I know in the past this has happened with some of the manufacturers construction flats.
Hi Marty, Just wondering how they react? It's plastic wheels on plastic decks?
Mike, nice. People laugh about the less expensive cars and trucks found at Wally World and other similar places. But most of the time they actually look good. I have noticed the increased detail of some of the cheaper vehicles at same time and increase in the amount of detailed 1/43 and 1/64(S scale) vehicles.
Suzukovich, I agree and between Menards and Walmart I might be able to get everything I need but track! LOL
They look good. Why not use them? It wasn't that long ago that flat car vehicles from the big manufacturers were more likely to be 1/64 instead of anything close to O scale.
Mike,
I think they look great! And talk about a bang for your buck (or 2 1/2 bucks) you can't go wrong. I can see now I need to hit the local store.

I agree with all the above, they look great. Having been in construction for a number a years, construction equipment comes in all sizes, both large and small. Great find.

I always check out Walmart, flea markets, Goodwill, etc., because there are many hidden treasures!
Rob, I plan on going with ScaleTrax.

Mike, I thought of you today. I was coming back from a Dr Appt at Walter Reed, and stopped at a Hobbytown USA in Fredrick, MD. They had quite the clearance sale on their MTH track, including scale trax. Prices from as low as 0.88$ to 2.50$ a piece! I'm kinda sorry I don't need more track, that's a heck of a bargain!!
WOW that's a great price Chris. I wish I had a hobby shop around here, the only time I get near one is when I go to the VA hospital at American Lake. And I try not to make that to often, just when my hearing aids need adjustments, or the wife tells me they need it. LOL

I think the problem lies with rubber tires, and a chemical interaction with plastic flatcar decks. I have a Lionel scale flat that came with a scale combine on it (with rubber wheels), and it comes with pieces of clear plastic that fit on the deck under the tires to prevent the problem. If these Wally World items have plastic wheels, there shouldn't be a problem.
Breesinup thanks for the head up on the rubber tire problem.
