The Waukesha County  Janboree is being celebrated January 13 thru January 22 in Waukesha County, WI. This celebration includes many events as listed on this link:  https://www.waukeshacounty.gov/janboree/

During  the week long Janboree two weekend open houses are scheduled for the Waukesha County Gandydancers and the Badgerland S Gaugers at the new club location 741 North Grand Avenue in Waukesha, WI.   link WCGD previous facility:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHax6SUa6Hc

The entrance to the clubs facility is at the corner of Grand Avenue and South Street in the city of Waukesha, the open houses are scheduled for Jan 14 and 15 and Jan 21 and 22, open hours will be 10AM to 6PM all four days and admission is free.

The open house will be an opportunity for folks to see the WCGD layout, a permanent layout that needed to be taken apart for the move to the new facility, and now operating while plans are being made for an all new layout.

This will also be the first time for the Badgerland Modular layout to be up and running since Trainfest in 2019. This modular layout, which represents more the scale side of the hobby in S gauge, was previously a traveling layout that was taken to train shows in the Wisconsin area, it is now becoming a permanent layout in our new home. Much work was required just to get the layout running as the layout spent two years in an unheated facility and another year in a members basement. There is still much to do to bring the layout up to the standard that a permanent layout should represent but, we are looking forward to this ongoing project.  The Badgerland club will also be displaying a less permanent tabletop layout with many Plasticville type buildings.

The public is invited, so, please do come and join us for this event.

We had our first open house in conjunction with the WCGD club in our new home.  It was a fun time and we had a decent number of visitors come through and it was fun to watch the little folks with the excitement showing in their eyes. The HO club layout ran very well and our S gauge modular layout ran with just a few glitches, because of some height misalignment on our geezer gate, we suffered a few un-couplings of cars using scale couplers. We do have another open house this coming weekend and I expect to see even more folks coming through, the ice sculpting contests will be done during the upcoming weekend festivities. We, the BSG, will be addressing the misalignment problems on the layout after the next weekend open house.
