We Lost Lucy "The Wonder Dog" Last Night.

So sorry Don, nothing worse than losing your best friend.

 Wow, she was a great looking dog. I always liked that mag picture. I bet she had a great life. I never had a dog live that long.

I'm very sorry to hear this.

Non-dog (or cat) people don't understand what a crushing blow this can be, even when it's a pooch as old as Lucy. It's like losing a member of the family because, that's exactly what it is.

You have the thoughts and prayers of everyone in my home, including my 4-legged son Charlie, in your time of loss.

Lucy was a great friend to you and will be missed. We have all faced this ordeal with our companions. We share your feelings and loss.

Our pets are family members,and as such we all cherish them as our kids.  I am sorry for your loss.  She will be missed and remembered by many.

I'm sorry for your loss.  We've been on the planet long enough to have lost several pets, dogs and cats.  Even though we realize when we rescue them that we probably will outlive them it's still tough to lose one.

   Bummer, hope your family is all right, I have one almost 18 now also, God only gives us his most cherished possession to teach unconditional love, for a short time.

Sorry to hear about Lucy.  My lone remaining cat is now 18 and I dread the day when he crosses the bridge.  They are family, and it always hurts when we have to say goodbye.

My wife and I are going to be adopting a 2 year old Pitbull mix diagnosed with Lymphoma and has what the vet estimates as only 1, maybe 2 years left.  We just want to give him a good, loving life of whatever he has left.  This day will come for us too, but obviously not after 18 years.

Having been in your place a few times in the past, I know the feeling and it is never easy. These crazy animals work their way into our hearts making it very hard to say goodbye. Cherish the memories and find comfort in knowing that Lucy had a good home for 18 years and did not suffer long at the end. You gave her a wonderful life.

Hi Don, so sorry that Lucy had to leave you. We have four now, with two that have crossed the Rainbow Bridge and will be waiting for us.

 

The pain leaves a large hole in your heart that nothing can or will fill. Just know she loved you as much as you did her.

So sorry, Don.  I know that heart-crushing feeling all to well.  Wow, 18 years...I can only imagine the the bond that was formed.  She must have been a great friend.

I lost my pooch in 2002 and can't set myself up to go through that again, I feel for you. 18 years is a good life, shows she was very contented.  Unless someone goes through the loss of a pet dog, it would be hard to explain the hurt.  The OGR picture is a wonderful remembrance.  You have my condolences.

The loss of a beloved pet always hits home.

This evening my wife and I will be taking our Airedale Rainbow to the vet for an exam and stayover.  Tomorrow morning she will have the equivilant of a doggie ACL surgery.

We experienced this with our previous Airedale.

Next week 2 of my company's therapy dogs will be having surgery.  One of them may lose a leg over this infection.

We all worry about our pets,cats or dogs.  They are such an integral part of our families.  We all suffer and grieve when we lose one or if a friend experiences a loss .

We are saddened by your loss of your beloved pet.
