Does anyone know if weaver corrected the Long Island RS-3? As I recall when I purchased on a couple years back the orange on the end of the hood came up short and ended right above the headlight.

I got one about 8 months ago, and the hood ends were painted to just above the headlights.

Thanks! I called their office to notifiy them that it was incorrect and that was a number of years ago! I don't know why they never corrected this minor problem and paint the hood ends correctly. Plenty of reference photos!
Yes! So I think if weaver corrected their mistake they would have a nice engine! I can't see weaver making and not correcting this minor problem.
From the Weaver Website There have been discussion like this before on the forum. There may have been in the life of this unit a paint scheme as Weaver Painted it.
No long Island rs-3 diesel ever had the orange on the hood ends stop above the headlight. A weaver mistake. The rs-3's were delivered in 1955 and were delivered in this scheme which lasted until 1964 when LIRR adopted the Worlds Fair wave scheme.
Also weaver forgot to paint the pilot fronts orange!!
Hy it's a Weaver model. Nothing states one can correct the Paint scheme!
Correct! And they should really get it right for customer satisfaction! How abot a yellow GG-1. Only a model but incorrect, YES I'll buy one!
Weaver does a superb job on their other models! Just don't know why they botched this one.
