I'm new to 3-Rail O Gauge and need help/advice. I have just received a 3-Rail Weaver PRR GG-1 and using a RailKing Z1000 I cannot get it to move. The box details state it has a DCRU Electronic Reverse by QSI. Does this require a 9V rechargeable battery to run (as old as this is, if there's a battery it is most probably dead by now)? To check of there's a battery, I've removed the 6 screws (2 on each end and 2 on each side of the center on the underside) but it seems that something in the middle still prevents removing the body. Any help/advice would be very welcome.

The DCRU doesn't require a battery, it's likely that the locomotive needs service.
As far as removing the shell, sometimes they have to be "wiggled" off. It's been a long time since I had one of those open, but six screws sounds about right.
Thanks. Your advice about needing to wiggle it to get the body off was right on. This QSI unit does have a 9V NiCad Rechargeable battery and as I guessed it was dead - but installing a new, charged battery didn't help. It makes diesel noise but will not move and only the marker lights are lighted but no headlight? I've done all the suggestions in the Operating Instructions. Where would one get the QSI system checked out and repaired if needed?
I'd contact GGG on the forum, he's the QSI man. If I have a QSI question, I ask him.
