Bill,
I've been looking for a CNW car like this for my Friendship Train. I didn't know Weaver made one. Add it to my buy list.
My photo from the PRRT&HS convention.

Two Weaver cars are sitting on a siding as a train of Atlas cars passes.
I normally don't get fantasy cars but I could not pass up the Playboy Automotive boxcar. At least I think it is fantasy since I could not find a picture anywhere. However, the 1948 Playboy Coupe is real. My brother was a car buff and we went to an auto show in San Fransisco many years ago and there were maybe five Playboys there. Strange little cars, but ahead of their time with innovative engineering similar to the Tucker. Unfortunately, like the Tucker, it did not last long.
I'm getting ready to sell my 40+ AltasO and similar K-Line reefers and found this Weaver among them. Nice car but, like the other reefers, if the prototype was not around in the late 40s it must go.

I have this one I picked up as part of a lot of cheap cars for parts. It was in surprisingly good shape and I ran it at National Capital Tracker shows. It is at the Railroaders Memorial Museum in Altoona. I have not found any photos of this car in actual service, so I assume it has always been at the museum.

No. As pictured, from Weaver.
They're at the tail end of this train. They're the 57-foot mechanical reefers (no sound) with scale wheels and shock-control couplers. Kadee came out with a shock-control draft box a couple of years back for use with Kadee 800/700 series couplers. They're still showing up on eBay from time to time mostly in 3-rail. These particular cars run on 36" wheels. Lionel has re-issued the cars in the LionScale line, but they haven't done the Santa Fe's yet. When/if they do I'll definitely get a set and convert them.
This is how they started out:

Sure would of been nice if somebody had bought the Weaver Train Company. Great people to work with.

I'm almost sure that Mr. Peterson did those Linde Air cars in a reverse color scheme.
Yes Jim, Mr. Peterson painted them both color schemes. I bought those & others from him at York back in 2002/03. Here are the CSX Weaver cars he painted.

My contribution: The train is all Weaver. The engines are custom painted. The video is from Trainstock3.

Great thread...wish these guys were still around...or, at least, Lionel would produce more of their LionScale line using the Weaver molds.
I, especially, liked the 50' tank cars...they were (are) great cars at a fraction of the price.
