Weaver Santa Fe 57' Mechanical Reefer with Sound

It’s an annoying unpleasant sound. The switching colored LED’s are cool. Not sure why they have them? Good thing there is a switch on the undercarriage.

 Unlike 40 footers, at 57', it’s a nice realistic looking correct model!

Actually the three LEDs change as a function of the RPMs. High, low and off. The sound files are from Mike Reagan's diesel suburban. I still have a few boards here. Was thinking of re-doing it.  Know that most diesel rumbles or roars have a low frequency component that IS annoying. I've done enough sounds to know.

The Weaver mechanical reefers with sound command a ridiculous amount of money on eBay. The ones without sound are half as much or even less. However, if you can forego the LEDs (or roll-your-own version of the refrigeration unit), ITTC sells an HQ sound module that's available with the refrigerator sound.

I was thinking about installing modules in a couple of my mech. reefers. They're switch activated, so you can play some games triggering the sounds.

They sound like typical diesel engines. I could only get two. I would have to make a video with audio, since I do not have a video already.
