It is October, 1949, and the little engine is heading out on a local run with a high priority shipment from California.  This run is normally pulled by a H10, but the H10 was needed for a work train.  The last local this H6sb did was over two years ago, when it was relegated to yard duty.

H6sb w UP Express[1)

The H6a was the biggest single class of PRR motive power, with 1,242 built.  600 H6a engines were rebuilt into H6sb engines, but by 1949 only a handful were left with most being scrapped from 1946-48.  A few made it into the early 50s. This engine is a 3rd Rail model upgraded to command control by forum member Alex_M.

Fresh out of the paint shop! This MTH 44 tonner started life as a Southern switcher but I just got finished with the B&M conversion.

Very Nice. I sure would love one of these since I have a small 5X9 layout with 0-31 and 0-42 curves but would love it either repainted USS #45 Green and Yellow for the Pine Creek Railroad or USN for Yellow Earle Naval Base.

For no particular reason:

Just got this; Thomas Industries "Shawnee". All metal, moderately heavy, well-made, impressive.

DSCN3780

Almost certainly somewhat over-scale, but less so than the slightly-massaged General on the right:

DSCN3771

Thomas Shawnee, General, AHM 4-4-0 (2R), 3rd Rail 2-6-6-2 (not narrow-gauge). The AHM and 3rd rail are definitely 1:48.

Dave - thanks for pointing out the dirty apparatus!  I'll be sure to talk to the chief first thing in the morning and see if he can get some volunteers to shine up those rigs by tomorrow afternoon

Better late than never!!! Coming at you from Roanoke, VA currently

I've only been home 1 day out of the last 10, so I didn't do anything on the layout, but I did snap a few shots before I left.
Little bonus of this trip is that I got to stop by Strasburg, PA. I purchased a few scenery items for the layout while I was up there

A new, unexpected, addition to my collection after a visit to the LHS located near my parents.  They seem to be moving towards more used O gauge trains on their shelves, and I found this Lionel GCT 100th Anniversary station for about $100 less than what they can be found for online currently.  At under $100 total for the building, it found it's way into my car.  It's the ideal size for my Christmas display and I think it'll add to it.

Also have a friend's Legacy SP GS4 in my possession for some smoke unit repairs.  I've always been a bigger fan of the N&W J class engines, but the GS4 is quit the looker as well.
