Finally replaced the light bulbs in this Lionel station platform, after they went out 5+ years ago.

York Meet is getting close.   Here is the Orange Hall layout from the fall of 2015.

I was interested in this great looking caboose when it was released (last year?) but never picked it up. Saw it the other day and grabbed one from our friends at Trainworld.

Last week I finished installing my Menards Morton Salt Factory between the 2 mains and the passenger yard.

Great pics as always.

With my stash of parts arriving from the States last week. The next item on the list to fix was our Lionmaster Legacy Big Boy.

It had suffered front engine motor failure. Typicaly at a train show. One of the brushes was rattling around inside the motor.

Small problem was that I ordered the wrong motor. I thought the Big Boy has Liondrive. However it has worm gears.

With another motor over 3000 miles away. I decided to adapt and overcome. Managed to remove worm gear off old motor without damage. I removed the Lionedrive connector from the new motor and fitted the worm gear from the old one. 

success, I had my doubts it would work but luckily the motor shafts were the same length.

NS SD70ACe 1167 shoves an eastbound grain train through Elkhorn tunnel on the Pokey. Even though this is still a great location, it lost a lot of it's character once the N&W signals came down

Love the Atlas NJT Comets. Sadly I can't have them on my layout since its only 5x9. I am however hoping to get the NJT F40ph for my birthday next Saturday since it is the only scale NJT locomotive that can accommodate both my 0-31 and 0-42 curves.  I also have that same CNJ Heritage Unit in the 11th picture.

Continuing to work on details for my new module and its buildings....

The Buildings Unlimited freight platforms sure come in handy and are very reasonably price. The color works, too. I will just hit them with a light alcohol/India ink wash.

Checking clearances....my widest cars are my Atlas Troop Carriers and a Geller Toy Trains flat with a 1/4 scale Abrams tank. There is about 7.5" above the top of the rails. I figure that should be plenty. I can't wait to see all of this in our 20x42 set up!

When I bought all the sets of freight platforms at the OGR booth many years ago, Barbara Saslo, Myron's  daughter, asked me "are they for a project?" I said, "yes, but I'm not sure what." 10+ years later, here they are.

My PRR H10 had to make a stop at the icing station to load up the reefers.

Wow Tom!  I deeply appreciate your compliment!  Thank you for noticing.   Yes those folks on the layout do have a way of going to work whenever the lights are out  :-)   

I love creating scenes often.  It's creative play that gives me great satisfaction and therefore keeps me in the game of model railroading.   

          how about one of these in O scale....

I just bought this James Dean figure and car. I brought the drive in screen and sign in from the layout to add some movie updates. Tonight is a special appearance by the star for the sports car club.

                                        looks like a good barge project......
