Sirt I was figuring caulking and was wondering how you got it so thin. I haven't gotten to you link yet but I guess you just let it drip out of the glue gun, getting nice thin strands, cut to length then how do you attach it to the under side of the bridge, or eave or where ever you want icicles.
Yes Joe, after you have made a few, super glue them to the desired location.
Hope to see your results. Quick and easy! Boom - done!!!!!!!!!
Don't forget to buy and cut up some holiday cinnamon brooms to make some Winter trees. Also some rope and wire for the pine trees too.

Yah, they looked to be printed sheets put on some kind of foam core or balsa, with added details in 3D. I've always thought this process would look cheap, but I stand corrected, he does a really nice job.

Love it! The brooms are a great idea. What did you use to make the snow? I'm so tempted to make do a winter layout but I'm just not sure of what to do about snow. You HAVE to have some snow if it's winter!
Bob Anderson posted:I've been working on an operational 3-bay open hopper car and coal trestle. A Lionel diecast hopper came with spring-loaded bay doors, and they just begged to be used. So I fashioned a way to (manually) operate them, then built a coal trestle with openings between the rails for the coal to fall through. I just posted a brief video showing the whole scene in operation, and showing how it was done, which includes use of shotgun shells and fishhooks.
Always love your videos Bob.Hope Joe is doing good.Nick&Janet

SIRT always wondered what you had used for trees on your winter module. Hopefully when I can finally start my new layout the results will look half as good as yours.
Any way as usual a lot of great pics and as usual finger is some what numb. Even some ideas to use. Here is my contribution. Been experimenting with the effects in the Movie program. Four tries to get this far.

Had a lighted billboard custom made from a 'Greetings from Red Bank, NJ' ( My old home town as well as my wife's) - perfect for my NY&LB look I'm going for"Hi Christopher,
Always fun to find another NY&LB fan!
Here's a link to some photos of my version of the NY&LB to date. Just starting to make some progress with ballasting, lots to do before I'll have anything approaching scenery, but I can run trains!

Tried to get an overall shot of The Trackers layout at the Manassas Candy Factory but the lighting is horrible. You'd think with all those can lights the room would be evenly lit but there's hot spots and cold spots everywhere. This was "the best" of many photos at various angles. Oh well, it was a nice holiday setup and lots of local attendees even though I failed to capture that.

Cool Gary. My new layout is just very loosely based on it, but I wanted to try & capture a bit if the flavor.
Just looked at the pics - wish I had the room you do!
Running my El Capitan / Super Chief on the Paradise and Pacific RR yesterday. It ran great for the 6 hours I was there.
An older video of the early Amtrak version of the train before the cars were repainted high balling a passenger extra during a busy holiday season. By 1972 the FP45s were starting to get painted in the freight scheme.
