It's time for WEEKEND PHOTO FUN!

Over 10 years ago I purchased this set for my dad. He has never ran it and it sits above his fireplace. Lionel needs to reissue this for the Civil War Anniversary

Here is one of my MTH Ives standard gauge sets I was running this past weekend.

I was attempting to run my Russian set at the VMT this past Wednesday. It didn't go so well. Is there anyone else out there that would like to see MTH reproduce this set? After some tinkering I am going to try to run it again there this coming Saturday afternoon.

Speaking of this coming Saturday is train lovers day at the Virginia Museum of Transportation. $5.00 admission, $3.00 train rides. There's a bus available to take people to the Norfolk & Western Historical Society Archives.

Let's see your pictures.

Scott, Although it's not something that would look right on my railroad, I really like that Russian set. How old is it? If you get it running smoothly at the museum be sure to post a video.

I took the last tour with OGR to Tony Lash's layout and got one of his cars.....he signed the car for us. It has never been run and probably will never be run. Tony was a super host and a very kind gentleman. I don't know what happened to his layout, but I thank God that I was so blessed to see it and have it inspire me with mine.

Below are a few photos that I took on that layout tour.

I've been working on the rebuild of my postwar display layout this week -

I was able to get the boards up, painted & all 5 trains running. Next up is the scenery & wiring of the upper level & then the tunnel/mountain. Lucia was very proud of the help that she gave me while building it!

Once the trains were up, the kids were excited!

There has been a lot of conversation on the Forum over the past couple of weeks about passenger cars, whether it by the Pocahontas set, the new Lionel 21" plastic cars, the future of Lionel 18" passenger cars, etc.

So let's concentrate on a proven winner, K-Line, for this week's Photo Fun contribution.

Hi Scott! I have one of these Russian sets, picked it up about 25 years ago, don't know if you are aware of this, but it requires 20 to 24 volts ac to run well. I purchased it from a fellow who had received it from an uncle who got it in USSR, while on a visit to the old country! I did want to mention I always look forward to your post weekly!

Uncle Al

I have fun trying to come up with interesting photos from my layout.  Hope you enjoy this one.  Update.  Commuter rail operations north of San Francisco getting close.  First train to be delivered on March 31st.  One near accident though, an empty car for ballast got loose Feb. 6th, and passed through three crossings.  No one hurt.  One last SMART item, the 30 year old bridge from Galveston, Texas being installed.  This new/old bridge will replace 102 year old Haystack bridge over Petaluma River.
