CHEVY TRUCK PLANT

This incident happened in the Oshawa CP Rail yard which ships out the GM vehicles. One of the railcar men who attaches and detaches the car haulers, accidentally unhooked a set of train cars without having the brakes applied.

The Oshawa rail yard has a slight incline to it, so when the set of cars was unhooked from the
engine it started to roll down the hill, it smashed through the stop block and then through the
fence and continued into the parking lot where GM stores the new vehicles
that come off the line.   Over 300 vehicles were damaged.
I guess this is where the guy just takes his lunch box and goes home.

Scott,

I believe that this accident happened in October of 2009.

Kinda of old news but I guess it is train related.

Gravity works wonders on railcars of all types, even real ones.

Here's a few shots of the small portable layout I've begun working on. It's mainly to run Marx tin trains and has old Marx switches to allow my single-reduction (fat wheel) lokies  to run on it.

Also I've built a couple of "paper-plate" depots for the layout until I can get tin replacements. The bigger one has a Tyco whistling billboard unit hidden inside. Still have some more finish work to do on that one too.

Neat pictureRichard! Would you Cattaragus River be named after the Cattaragus Creek that runs through my home town of Gowanda NY?

Strogey:

The answer is yes. The BR&P had a substantial bridge over the Cattaragus Creek south of Buffalo near West Valley. I like to use Indian names for places on my layout, they tend to be colorful and give a sense of history.

Nice, Chris...is the trolley line point to point? I like the stone wall.

Thanks Jim. Yes it's kind of point to point but the track has no power going to it. The trolley is there as a display to go with the scene until I decide to run it on a live track.

A drawing my 13 year old brother is working on for me.  The GG1 is definitely not an easy engine to draw.  I think he's done a pretty awesome job on it.  He just started the shading today and still has some work to do on it.  That beam over the rear pantograph is going to be a catenary support.  I think eventually he's going to draw the scenery around it too which will look cool.

And my model that he is drawing.
