This week I worked on several little tinplate projects...

I started painting an MTH/Ives passenger set.

I hope to have this finished and on the layout next week.

I decided to do something with tinplate passenger cars that don't have any passenger or interiors>

I hot glued the passenger figures to the bottom and side of the cars.

Lionel Commodore Vanderbilt Hudson. The Biltmore House Estate is in nearby Asheville and is America's largest private home. Cornelius 'Commodore' Vanderbilt was the patriarch who founded the Vanderbilt fortune that built this estate. This Hudson was modified to honor the Commodore from #5344 that we all know and love as did JL Cowan.

Am offering this one for sale in the FS thread.

Funny Photos from Michigan - “The Grandchildren Make a Man Cave Sign for Their Bedroom Door”

The grandchildren like to have grandpa read railroad books & they make a Man Cave Sign similar to grandpa’s man cave door & hanging out in the train room.

Thanks for taking a look & have a great weekend: Gary & my train crew. 🚂

That's a novel idea.  Very Dorfan-esque. Although I've never looked to see how they did it, I'm sure they didn't use hot glue a century ago.

I'm curious about how long the hot glue will withstand the vibration and jostling around during operation.  But that's the great thing about hot glue - if it fails, just do it again.

As many know Tom (Gilly@N&W) and I put up Glenn Snyder Display System shelves in my new attic train room.....here is the previously seen panoramic picture:

From the 73 six foot sections, we had less than 3 feet of leftover parts......what to do with them? They make great gondola loads......

It is 1948 and this HH1 is on its last run.  The PRR bought six Y3 engines from N&W in 1943 to help with wartime traffic, and gave them the PRR nomenclature HH1 (two "H" 2-8-0 back to back).  By 1947 these engines, built in 1919, were no longer economical and the PRR had them scrapped between 1947 and 1948.

This is MTH's version and one of my better running engines.
