a few scenes of a busy day in and around Elizabeth City on the Cuyahoga Valley Short Line Railroad....
Took this kids to the Henry Ford in Deaborn, MI this past week. The best part of the museum is the C&O 1601 Allegheny 2-6-6-6.
My son loved being in the cab with all the controls. It is a hard locomotive to photograph well but here are some shots I got!

Thanks Brian.... all it needs it some 21" K-Line cars now
Saw several nice sets sold yesterday.
And, you're correct; the ABBA would be awesome with a bunch of K-Line 21" cars!
However, I can't wait to see your GGD set with them! Now, that will be impressive!

an amazing machine.......
Here's the Pecos river/ Korber two stall engine i just completed. This shed is beautiful, this one will on display at York at the Korber models booth.
Alex, your personal record has been awarded ten merits for expert model construction. This is a kit, true, but it requires skill and a lot of work to assemble it. I bought one from Pecos River, but, once it was delivered, I realized how large it is -- too big for my layout. But it is an impressive structure, and especially so as you have finished it with brick siding instead of poured concrete. My hat is off to you!

Hi Tom,
Thank you very much for the kind words. This is a massive structure, just for the heck of it
i counted how many pieces are in this kit and if my calculations were right it was a bit over two hundred. Lots of work, but once complete it's a real beauty.
Thanks again,
Alex

i never would have guessed. I thought you did an excellent job before I knew what was involved. I'll have to raise that to spectacular. It is a handsome building.
I picked up two undecorated Atlas O Master Line Single Sheathed box cars back in December at the Nashville TCA meet.
A friend just finished painting and decorating the first car for the IC RR.
Here is the prototype:
Here is the finished single sheathed box car.
Next one in the paint shop be painted and lettered for the Tennessee Central.
Thanks,

Had a busy day at the club today. While the kids took over operation of the trains (and did a better job than the adults), Dave O'Connor worked on the narrow gauge section -- planting some more trees and doing additional ground coverage on the logging operation area. Howard Packer and I did some preliminary work on the "Munchausen Falls" waterfall construction under the bridges nearby. Right now, there are foam blocks in place which we'll start sculpting next weekend after the Liquid Nails has set up on some removable sections we worked on today (photos will follow).

Here are a few pics of us running our smallest (and newest to us) steam engine out at AGHR today, In the last one, my daughter is endeavoring to be captured on screen by the camera caboose:
....and here's a sneak preview of the next custom car project we're working on at home:

So, during my vacation trip April 8-9, I had:
ACS-64 628 in front of me, while at the same time...
...New Viewliner II baggage car 61022 behind me...
...a short trip on Atlanta's MARTA subway (they sound just like MTH's R-142 subway)...
...and right after arriving at my hotel, a ride on Atlanta's new streetcar loop.
And it wasn't even a train-related event I was attending. The reverse trip will conclude via NYC subway.

Richard - What a nice friend to have, fantastic looking car!

An Atlantic running this afternoon & my best steamer
I started a thread earlier this week about the use of specialty lighting on a layout and properly used, how much it can enhance a scene or an entire layout.
The photo I have selected for the week's Photo Fun Thread speaks volumes of what I am talking about. It sure makes good use of "color" and gets your attention.

I forgot to ask testerday... are these Atlas or Lionel?
Those are just like your engines Jim. Laidoff spent some time fixing the pilots and installing Kadees.
That, my friend, was time and money very well spent.

Thanks to all for the numerous "likes"
After additional research I have decided that I have found a better prototype for modeling an IC single sheathed box car:
I will take the box car back to my friend in order to have the necessary modifications applied to match the new prototype.
I could no longer wait for Atlas to model the IC and TC single sheathed boxcar, so I took maters into my own hands. Here is a picture of the prototype Tennessee Central single sheath boxcar to be used on the next project.
Thanks again for your comments.
