A 2021 Christmas Layout memory

A few more scenes in the back area of the layout.

For perspective purposes, the bum camp is shown here but hard to distinguish.  The manger was not yet put in place.  It landed up where you see those white whatevers in the bottom of this image

The glass manger pieces were a small gift from my son and DIL meant to be placed on the layout

Norm neat, really neat.  But one thing the PRR S1 having four cylinders each exhausting to the stack would have some cadence of eight depending depending on the sync of the two driver sets.

I hope you understand that this engine is using vintage early 2000s Lionel TMCC/RS4 and Lionel did simulate phased duplex chuff in this particular soundset. I did not film a full suite of this engine running at different speeds, perhaps I will if I can locate a proper set of classier passenger cars for it someday.

That sound set sucks!  It sounds like a stumble!  I have the PRR S1, T1 and Q2  in MTH so can set rate  as you know.  But have thought about readjusting one set of drivers on these so that the two engine sets would be in sync.

But in 1981 NJ Transit painted this Motor red with 5 stripes.

Yep.  I rode the last ride of the GG1 behind the Tuscan 4877 in October of 1983.  I also got a non-accompanied cab tour in 1982 when it was on display at the Hoboken festival as NJT didn't lock the doors to any of the equipment and my brother along with two of my cousins toured the cabs of lots of equipment and in the case of the E8 the engine room.

Jonathan, is it my imagination or can you actually see the green of the DGLE in the bright sunlight?

I can definitely see the green in it.  One thing I've never quite gotten used to out here in AZ is just how bright the sun is during the day.  When I get further north natural sunlight just doesn't quite feel as intense.  If I had photographed the locomotive indoors, it would have looked a lot darker.
