The Hostlers have taken Erie-Built diesel unit 90B out to turn it on the wye. They are stopped between signals at R C Junction, waiting for the Second District Local to slip into Caprock and tie up for the day. The big Fairbanks-Morse passenger unit will go out on No.94 this afternoon. Yesterday, it arrived at Caprock on No.93, with a broken steam pipe and was swapped for GP7 2651, so that the train could continue to Brownwood without significant delay. The roundhouse crew had the 90B repaired before midnight and — once the hostlers get her pointed westward, she’ll race over to Clovis on No.94, and be coupled into an A-B-A consist with the 90L and 90A, which will be swapped with steam engine 2915, on No.3. Tomorrow, she’ll be basking in the sun at the Barstow Diesel Shop for monthly inspection and a good bath inside and out.
This is a caboose I’ve always wanted so I built me one. I’m going to decorate the old All Nation NW2 to pair with it. I need a drive mechanism for the NW but they come up for sale every now and then.

Brother Love, you have masterfully recreated that tired look of so much of the late era Milwaukee Road equipment.
Your personal record has been awarded for creative building and weathering of a worn out caboose.
Every couple of months, I will take some of my trains out to display in the dining room. This time around, it is the Lionel Girl's Train (1991 version) and the Boy's Train (2002).
The light colors make for a great Easter look.
I hope that everyone has a happy and healthy Easter Day tomorrow.

Last weekend the Austin Tinplate Trackers attended the New Braunfels Spring Train show and ran trains for two days. This year is our 30th Anniversary and New Braunfels was our very first show to run at as a club. Here's to another 30 years!

Not this time around. Had my new SP GS-1 to break in and my E9's had just been converted to ERR after sitting on the shelf for 15 years. Maybe next month. Here's a pic of the Texas Eagle passing the New Braunfels Mopac Depot.
