Spence - Nice "hot dog" box cars - i think if you would check with "mike caruso" he could possible have a "ketchup" boxcar that would add to you fun train

Love the train, Spence!
Growing up, whenever I went to a ballgame and ordered a dog,
the vendor always tossed a packet of these...

SIRT....where did you get the forklift? I drive one for a living, and all the ones I can find are modern, I'd like to get a vintage tryp for the layout.

"WIENER KING" a franchise started in Charlotte, NC - became a multi-state phenomena selling a 12 inch hotdog, fixed any way one wished - but in a few years the franchise quickly disappeared - - cooperate name issues as i recall - or - was it to much ketchup

My good friend Ron is not a railfan, model, toy or otherwise. However he is a machinist at the Grove City, Pennsylvania GE plant. We met him and his wife formsupper today, and he was wearing a T shirt GE handed out to employees at a banquet commemorating the newest GE EVO receiving Tier 4 status. I had to take a photo and share it.

Hey Scott I know I'm late to the show. Just hopeing all went well for you today. Just let us all know how every thing went for you.
Scot
Scott,
Hope everything went well for you today. When you have a moment lets us know. Your in our prayers and thoughts.
All the pictures I just finished looking at were great. A nice variety. And its only Friday evening. Keep them coming.
Scott, I hope this finds you done with the procedure and relaxing in good news!
New today on the home layout, just arrived this afternoon. Thanks to forum member Alex M. for making this great unit available! The O Gauge Railfan was down trackside to get some photos as it tried out the 0-27 loop. Gingerly at first, but no problem. Takes 0-27 curves very well. The prototype, photo also posted, is preserved nearby at Baltimore's B&O Railroad Museum. More this weekend about my special relationship with this locomotive!

In my teen years I ran a Wiener King on Albemarle rd in Charlotte. We had a customer that came in for late lunch almost everyday.......Tommy Faile singer songwriter. I made more cole slaw than thought possible. Good food .....bad management. (teen in charge)
But to make this a train post.....years later 75% of my O scale trains came from a store nearby the old WK location.
With the encouragement of the Santa Fe Historical Society, I took a series of 20 photos of this ATSF cantilever signal bridge in Lubbock, TX. I'm fairly certain the train crew called me in as a trespasser (technically, I was). By the time the rear end cleared Avenue P, a maintainer was driving up to check me out. Everything was cool and we had a nice visit...knew a few of the same people.
Then I drove to Canyon, TX and had lunch with someone we all truly admire.
It was a good day.

That's a super nice one Rob!
Finally picked up my favorite Plasticville building...
And here's down in the valley...
that Vulcan switcher looks impressive, but you have blown my mind with the scrap trolley bodies. The icing on that particular cake is the rock hole in what's left of a windowpane. I'm speechless.
Here is a section of duct I'm experimenting with, and a smaller leaf spring. I think I've pushed the limits for sure with this one! The duct will also be for my scrap load. I'm going to try to do some smaller ducts. I need a small press break, as a box and pan is not really suitable for making some of the bends required.

That was a great idea John. I waisted a bunch of rust I scraped off the flavorizer bars on my Weber grille. I'll know better next year.
Thanks for asking the question Don, it made me look closer.
Scott I hope all went well. We all awaiting your return to the forum.
Don you're right you really are pushing it with items like that for a scrap load. Your work is great.
Joe
Thanks Joe, I'm trying to think of things out of the ordinary, and since I have access to several machines at work, they make some of the projects doable. My next project is to experiment with making mufflers and exhaust pipes. Someone who stopped by the booth at York saw my first attempt at duct work, and commented that it looked like a muffler. The hard part will be the ends. I've already got several of the tubes from WD 40 cans to use as the piping, but that's the easy part.
Don
I know, my layout is a mess, but I wanted to share my new project. I'm doing a pre-1950 coal drag. So far I have 3 weaver composite hoppers, an Atlas fish belly hopper, and a Lionel Consolidation with caboose. Coal should come next week for coal loads. I know it's not great, but I'm excited.

A track crew is busy working near the local lumber yard and industrial supply dealer. It looks like a nice spring day on the Hi-Rail Train Club in Griffith, IN.
Art
Art, thanks for your support.
You need to pay us another visit sometime. Lots of changes going on. We will be adding many more pictures to the club's website over the next two months. Look for a big announcement toward the end of July.
Jim
Jim - We are planning to visit again soon, but it won't be this weekend. Stan is out of town and there's too much going on. But it is high on our to-do list.
