Kid proofing the Lion Chief remote. Kids were turning knobs to far at last couple of shows I did and broke the dials from turning to far trying to get trains to go fast. This limits how far they can turn them and keeps them from being handled. Off to a train show this weekend to see how this works.  With a 4 second delay from when you turn the dial to when the train moves kids are used to instant video games when you move dial it happens. Will post show pics and results next week.

Happy May!
Enjoy the photos!

New additions to the roster -
Probably one of my favorite postwar sets - 2140WS from 1948

overview of the layout - w/ new #35 street lamps & 199 Microwave tower installed. I can say the layout is pretty much done.

closer looks at the upper level -

Shelves in the train room. Wish I had a bit more wall space to get the other postwar & MPC stuff out of the closets, but I think I maxed it out

Have a great weekend everyone. Just picked up Tuesday two new Legacy engines. Clinchfield AC6000 with the heritage caboose and the CSX dash 9 with dummy and it's heritage caboose. Happy Happy Happy. This stopped me from moaning because I couldn't go to my 1st York trip. Have not run them yet but here is a few pictures I did for hopefully a inventory some day.

This is the new Lionel PRR E8 (Tuscan).  Overall a great engine.  Good detail, excellent sounds and slow speed operation.  I replaced the hi-rail coupler with a scale Kadee coupler on the front powered engine only.  I think this improves the looks.  The hi-rail coupler can easily be restored.  I only wish both units were powered. I will try to update my website this weekend and add a photo page with video of this engine.

Rich, one question did the Pennsy ever have any E9's?

"Small layout...Big dreams"

Mike,

Nice photos!  Thank you.

Do you have relatives named Caruso who live near Butler, Pennsylvania?  We lived next to a family by that name about 15 years ago, and he had a nice postwar layout he wanted me to see before he took it down after Christmas.  I forget what all he had.

Thank you!

Popi, that yellow bonnet is the MTH DAP version.  btw, I think I've been up in your area before.   My sister-in-law lives in Watertown.  That's up near you, right?

Doug,

It is always a bummer to have to tear down a layout, unless you have a plan in sight for another layout.  I am sorry you won't have room in your new home.  Your layout looked very nice.

I have been without for a while, but I have hopes yet that our daughters in their 20s will move out soon, and I will gain a small room.

Mark, Thanks for your comment.  I will have room for a much smaller layout, nothing like the size I have now.

Doug
