MTH's CSX Dash-8 came through town with some freight, including one of my favorite tank cars, the Ford Motorcraft tanker.

Small layout...Big dreams
Just in yesterday!
I guess the number boards dont light up?
Barking dog on SSD is new.
It's quite a long internal run from the stack to the smoke unit. Make sure you add extra fluid.
I'll agree that the original Norfolk Southern had a great color scheme. However I have had that VO1000 for several years. I haven't run any trains this week. My wife has knee surgery this afternoon and I have been doing my train inventory with the Collector-Model Trains website. http://www.collector-modeltrains.com So I have been taking pictures of some of the trains I have but they didn't have pictures of on the website. I have cataloged over 600 train items thus far (keep in mind sets only count as one item). I am amazed how much of this stuff I own.
By the way the VO1000 has a great diesel sound set.

Postwar Marx 333 fresh out of the Jumijo shops. Already one of my favorite locos, it runs so nice and smokes prodigiously. While Im not a fan of the Marx 666/1666 or the 1839s, I love the 333.
Remodeled the flat-roofed MTH Car Repair Shop by raising the roof to create more of an Engine House profile.. I like it much better!
Really nice Dewey. Now that building looks GOOD!
My wife and I recently had our basement finished. I finally have a decent space to display trains and (eventually) build a layout.
More shelves will be needed:
Have a safe and wonderful Memorial Day Weekend everyone. A special prayer to all of our veterans and active duty personnel.
Bill:
It is always a treat to get a look at your layout in progress. Your CUS is very nice with the beautiful sheds.
God Bless all of our Veterans and those who are serving today.
Being laid up there are no 'new' photos but I like this older RK RS3. A great runner.
Also a few scenes around the layout ending with the US Coast Guard making an emergency fish drop at Tim's!
Another 2011 Christmas layout memory
Week 2 of using the winter section of the plateau for WPF.
Something, OK - the weather report, tells me that we here in the Pittsburgh area will need to think winter this weekend. 90.

Thank you, Scott, for getting us started.
May we honor those who gave their last full measure of devotion.
Here is a crew (Arttista Modern Engineer & Fireman) I installed in my Williams NH EP5 using techniques posted here a while ago. Now I know in which direction this "Jet" will start.
And here is the new NS READING LINES Heritage Unit. WaHOO!
Brian, Thank you for your words of support. Looks like you have posted your NEW GGD NYC Passenger car. Hope you will post a picture or two of it streaching out around your GREAT LAYOUT.
Alan, Your morning shots continue to be WONDERFUL ways to display your AWESOME LAYOUT.
Thanks everyone for sharing your pictures this weekend.
Have a safe Holiday weekend, and MANY THANKS TO ALL WHO ARE AND HAVE SERVRED THIS GRET NATION. G O D B L E S S THEM ALL AND G O D B L E S S AMERICA

Here's my turn table and roundhouse area
Thanks and enjoy your weekend, Alex
Hey Scott I rode in the cab several times of this diesel in the 50's - my grandfather was a NS official - sure wish I had a model of this loco.

NS1001, nice to hear from a fellow original Norfolk Southern fan. I grew up in Portsmouth, Va. and remember riding this line from Berkely, Va. to Pinetown, N.C. (Near Washington, N.C.) back in the 40's. under steam but saw the early Baldwin Diesels AS614 etc. in that redish color later on. I do have a model of the VO1000 switcher but hope they do a road engine. MTH has cataloged one of the heritage units GE ES44AC in that color. You might find more info about the old NS if you google on Bill Sellers Railroad History. I knew Bill who was a fine gentlemen who retired from the Southern Railway. Sadly he passed away not too long ago. He belonged to the Original Norfolk and Southern Railway Historical Society and had photo credits in a book about the same line.

Memorial Day weekend is a time for reflection, remembrance, and a time to honor those that made the ultimate sacrifice.
#16 is flying the flags in honor, and for me #2 and #11 make me feel good about my time in Korea.
Marker, is that an E1 or E2 in the background? Where did you get it and who made it if I may ask......What a beauty!
The Smoky Mtn Model Railroaders set up at the local toy store on Main St this weekend.
Ed, Harold, & Jerry have been busy building a 4 x 8 urban section with Superstreets and a trolley line.
Harold helped his son Josh create a terrific 'Back to the Future' diorama with the filming of the three movies side by side. See my other post on this spectacle. https://ogrforum.com/d.../lastReply#lastReply
Many smiling faces and one young man shows how trains SHOULD be viewed!
Real is fine with me!!
Getting ready to roll out the crane for some heavy lifting.
Another busy day in the yard!
Picked up this truck from our friends at Diecast Direct and decided to give it a little more color by painting the hand rails safety yellow, the non-slip surfaces black, the top of the tool boxes metalic silver and the cab running lights yellow. Just a few minutes and a little paint makes these trucks look considerably more realistic.
BnO, your photos (and everyone else's) of real railroading are also welcome on the Midweek Photos thread in the Real Trains forum. The thread usually starts on Wednesday morning, but can be added anytime.
Some of my real photos taken on Monday, May 13 were of Santa Fe 3751 charging out of Barstow, CA with the Grand Canyon Limited excursion.
Ahitpy- Thanks, I wanted the E1 so bad I'm adding a 2 rail portion to my layout and getting hooked.

Here is the E1 & E3 from a bit closer. These models are something!
Nice photos everyone! Forum member "revolgnad" and I spent the day railfanning around Altoona on friday. Here are some highlights:
Rose interlocking: a helper set and an EB 48A grain train wait
Yard job at Rose
A massive 21T speeds by WB. Wonder if they got helpers?
View of the changing scene at Alto. New signals at Alto and Slope interlockings
21E at the curve
After a long wait we got doubled as 26T's helpers clear a view of WB 21J
23Z with OLS leader
21M passes four MAC 80's at Cresson
EB 44T grain train gets a signal to proceed EB.
Finally, we caught the WB Pennsylvanian 07T at Cassandra

WOW111 those are beautiful....I have to hand it to the 2-rail guys..they are in a class by themselves and museum quality. Perhaps some day, a "popular" train company will produce E1/EA for us normal, 3-rail, semi-scale/traditional sized/O-27 budget constrained folks.
Hope springs eternal!
Really pretty power! Ts-1 Mountain #1480 with the Carolina Special and Ps-4 Pacific #1396 with the Crescent Limited--showing off in Salisbury.
